Very often the symptoms of urogenital system affections may be nonspecific and only thorough instrumental and laboratory examination helps to make an exact diagnosis.

GMS Clinic provides a whole complex of investigations, which according to the attending medical doctor's prescriptions may include the following:

• Urine analysis. In this analysis is included: microscopic sediment investigation, presence of protein, glucose, ketones, blood, nitrites, pH urine determination.
• Express-tests that are very often used:
  • Protein identification in urine (especially actual when leukemia, multiple myeloma…)
  • Sugar identification in urine (diabetes or kidney lesion)
  • Ketones in urine (noncompensated pancreatic diabetes, alcoholism…)
  • Blood in urine (renal insufficiency…)
  • Nitrites (as a rule of alimentary origin)
  • Leukocytes (inflammatory signs of any origin )
• Urinary sediment investigation – detection of lesion place and character
• Urine inoculation
• Functional tests for renal disease estimation and control
• Ultrasonic scanning (radiologic methods are long ago displaced by this method of investigation)
• CT (computer tomography)
• Excretory urography (with contrast) – for kidneys and lower parts of urinary tracts visualization
• Retrograde pyeloureterography
• Angiography – for vascular lesion detection when ambiguous tomography results, when suffering of tumor, when persistent one-sided bleeding, when poor kidney function.
• Venography
• MRT (magnetic resonance tomography) – provides with supplement information about kidney tumors that cannot be obtained by other methods.
• Kidney biopsy – sometimes the only method of making diagnosis. Also helps to control the clinical course and treatment.
